Web Design

I’d love to discuss the possibility of working together to build your new website! Below are a few frequently asked questions for you to review.

Below that is a form that you can fill out to request a quote. If you are requesting a quote for a custom site or a redesign please give me as many details as you can, include the link if you already have a site.

What can I expect?

While every website is different, there are a few basic processes that you can expect to happen.

1. I will likely ask you for a few websitest that you like the look, style, and/or layout of and why. This is not to give me something to copy, but to get an image in my head of what you might be looking for. This isn’t a requirement, by any means, but if you already have something you’re looking for, this will help us along the way.

2. I will ask a lot of questions about your goals, your target audience, your current “sales funnel”, etc. in order to create a strategy for your website. A website needs to be a lot more than a pretty face.

3. Based on that information, I will plan to have a design for you within 2 – 3 weeks to gather your feedback.

4. Once that is complete, I will finish the project. I will give an educated guess of when I expect to have the site complete but that can fluctuate for many different reasons. During the process, we will keep honest and open communication so expectations are met.

How much does it cost?

As much as I’d like to simply put a price on a website, no website is the same. And I won’t treat yours that way.

A website is an investment – much like an employee. It brings in leads, turns them into customers, and in the end, makes a profit.

The investment you make on your website, both in the creation and generating leads, the better your ROI will be.

Having said that, you shouldn’t expect anything outrageous either. I am selective who I work with, but stay competitive as well.

Let’s have a conversation and go from there. 🙂

Do I need hosting?

Yes.

There are several technical, up-front costs involved in having a website:

– Domian (https://yourwebsite.com)

– Hosting

– SSL

– Misc…

Depending on your needs, I will either suggest BlueHost, HostPapa or hosting your website with me.

Which you choose will depend on your needs and preferences.

SSL essentially secures a person who visits your site with the server. Typically, SSL was only required if you were processing payments on your website, but Google has started giving websites with SSL preference when it comes to ranking, so it may be something you want to seriously consider.

It’s also been recently rumored that Google may even require sites to have SSL to be listed in the near future.

Other things you may need, might include extra Email options, Sitelock security, etc., but we can have conversations about what is needed so you don’t have to worry about that.

Do you do SEO?

Every page on your site will come with the added benefit of meeting and exceding the standards of “on-page SEO”.

You can be assured that your site will be ready for Google.

That doesn’t, however, mean that your site will rank based on that.

There are a million factors that go into ranking a website and for best results, the good work that’s done “on-page” needs to be put on display with “off-page” SEO – which is another beast entirely.

Those SEO services are something I provide here. Feel free to have a chat with me about that any time as well.

Do you have a portfolio?

I’ve chosen not to display a portfolio online for two very important reasons:

a) I am very selective who I choose to work with. A balanced work/life is very important to me and so is making sure I have enough time and attention for you!

b) Linking to a clients website can have an effect on their SEO efforts. And since my site is not in their niche, it may even have a slight negative effect in some cases. Either way, I don’t want the link to have an influence.

Having said that, I will certainly provide examples upon request. 🙂

Will I be able to make updates?

The short answer is – Yes!

I will give you access to the backend of the site so you will have the ability to make edits, additions, etc. to the content or the site itself.

This will, of course, depend on your level of technical skill and/or patience to learn.

Either way, I’ll be here to help.
